Yeah not sure why they say "superglue" once dry it's actually brittle in that type situation. I used clear silicone caulk After I had one loosen and drop out.

I put the foam in place from the very start, I did not want any rattles and wanted a cushion between the two different metals.

I think I put it on the Ribs under the hood when I did it, in a few areas, then had 2 of my older kids hold it up in place as I put the screws in. Top, bottom and on the sides placement and I believe I put a piece in the middle, screws compressed it down easily.

So I never had it installed without the foam pieces.

WAX it and Keep it waxed more often than you would do your HHR's paint.

No not at all really, the foam is very soft stuff. Not a hard type foam at all.

I put it so it cushioned the mirror equally all around and even in the center area, don't crank the screws down as tight as you can, even without the foam you could dent it doing that. Just a gentle Snug with the caulk should be fine without risking damage.

If not, DON"T try hitting it from behind, you'll only make it Worse, and then be upset with yourself for trying it.

I was very careful when installing mine.

I do have a few water drop stains, drove it last winter and the mist of Salt driving it once or twice was enough.

And you can't rub hard or it will scratch, the kinda lite scratches only seen in certain light or just the rite angle. I'll be Parking her for the winter this year.

No one notices the few water spots I have, but I know they are there and it bugged the hell out of me to the point I was gonna buy Another one, but I calmed down and will live with them, for now at least.

It's inevitable if you drive the car, you Gotta clean it, eventually you'll see a water spot or fine hair line scratch that won't come off, first one Hurts the most.

I use a Pressure Sprayer to Rinse it down to get the fine dust off Before I windex it.
(I actually use Sparkle a Ammonia Free purple glass cleaner.)

2 small pressure sprayers I use.

Then I built a Air Pressurized "Corny Tank" Cornelus Tank that window tinters like to use.
Can find them used on craigs list. I bought 30 feet of hose at Ace Hardware then got the Sprayer Head at Menards.
About $65.00 bucks to make it up.

I got 2 of the five gallon corny tanks for $30.00 each. Drill a hole in the lid and put a metal tire valve in to it to pressurize. Home Brew places sell the tanks as well.

I fill it 2/3rds full with water and pressurize it with 100 pounds of air pressure. Sprays awsome and lasts. Gets in nooks and tight spots well, rinses dirt off without touching the mirror well.

Do NOT use Eagle One Original Never-Dull wadding polish on it, it Will cause micro fine scratches.
