Or you could rock a Nissan NV, they have a 10' x 6' cargo area. You could haul plenty of boats in there

well I'm going to to "roof top cargo carrier" direction... much cheaper... at least in the short term... but not as purty...

I have the factory side rails. just need to find crossbars on the cheap...

I did, but I'm not a big fan of the way the factory cross rails stick up so high... I have been searching the forum to see if there is another set of cross rails that may sit down lower between the rails...and not above them...

so far no luck

I can build model boats.. but I don't have access to a milling machines or any of the really fun tools for working with metals

I have a pair of stock ones on the way so at the very least I can get a close look at the way they mount...
