How to remove the Front Grille Bowtie Surround
How to remove the Front Grille Bowtie Surround. I can get the Bowtie itself off with no problem. My question is how do you remove the chrome surround off the Grille itself.
Here's a link to illistrate what I'm trying to accomplish:

Since you used one of my pictures (the bottom part is from this thread), I feel obligated to reply.
If I understand the question correctly, the suround, as you call it, is molded into the grille plastic. To remove it, you would need to cut it out and custom form a replacement section.

Thanks Dracos for your time,
The area I want to separate is the chrome piece that surround the Bowtie. It appears to be a separate area. There are two small pins in the back. Here's a picture of another members grill that clearly shows what I would like to do.l The object is to re purpose in a similar manner as the picture shows. Here's a link:

Thanks again

Now I'm fairly certain I don't understand what you're asking, the pictures don't match the question. That pic is a "no bar" grille, where the bars have been cut out of the grille surround. That one has gutter guard as a mesh, to which the bowtie is mounted.
The grille is actually chrome plating over plastic. In my pic that you used, the grille has been de-chromed. That process is covered in detail in the thread I linked. The plastic is gray; the yellow circle in the bowtie area is the epoxy I used as filler (which is also visible where the ends of the upper and lower bars used to be).

Hey Dracos,
I apologize for the confusion. I kept on researching this and found the answer on Ebay. Here's a picture of the Emblem Assy.

There it is as a separate piece which is mounted with 3M tape. Now I know how to proceed.
Thanks
