Maybe so but the question was asked here. This at least was relevant to the question as posted, unlike all the "welcome" messages scattered throughout every other thread....

Um, no decals do not pertain to lower grill mod, and since you mentioned it......

Well, I did my mod with materials from Loewe's. Thanks for the idea.

I'll be doing this mod this weekend. Thanks to everyone here for this idea.
I picked up the single gutter piece from Home Depot along with a can of black plasti-spray. I only had to pay for the spray as the lady was up front all alone and the gutter cover didn't have a price tag on it.

Attaching lower part of grille

I did this grille mod and used 3/8 butyl tape for windshield replacement ,I pick up left over from glass install from body shop.I placed about 8 inches under front bumber lip then folded mesh under. Look like it is holding very well.Maybe overkill but what the heck

I added the mesh screen to my HHR this past weekend. It was a quick and easy add-on, and gives me comfort in knowing that the A/C condensor is protected now. BTW, when I installed mine, I clipped it to the bumper support above the grill opening (wasn't sure if that was where people are attaching theirs, or to the bumper cover), and I clipped one wire on each end with wire cutters to push over the bolt. It fit tight enough, gripping on the screw threads, that I did not use a washer or nut to hold it on. I then folded the bottom and side edges over to fit tight. Sweet!

I need to redo mine using the 33" length rather than 31" It has come loose at and keeps popping up

Lone Star can you take some pics of it where you clipped it and also a pic of the mesh over the bolt? Did you cut out a hole of just at the end of the mesh?

I did mine this weekend. Very easy, very quick. I coated mine with 3 coats of black plasti-spray as I did not want mine to stand out, but I did want the protection. I think it looks good. Also, I just clipped mine at the ends so that the screen would "hang on" to the bolts. I don't think it will go any where unless something really big hits it.

Did mine out of a different gutter cover. Came brown in color. Painted it silver.

Everyone seems to be having a great time, with the cheapest mod so far, (heck, two people almost got paid to take them)...
Glad I bumped this one up, a true YR-1 innovation, Thanx C.J.
