I think his Dad hooked him up with high temp engine paint from RustOleum. Sent you a PM with an idea of where to rent/borrow a lift Kev.

Doing a little research for paints I ended up ordering my paint from TCP Global Corp.

They have a ton of quality Specialty Paints.

I chose their VHT Special Satin Black Brake Drum and Caliper paint.
It covers up to 900 Deg. and is Extra Durable for this Enviroment.
Also for most Mufflers.

I have used Rustoleum Paints for years and admire there commitment to quality.
I think that application is also fine as it covers up to 1200 Deg which is probably higher than you will need.
Some paint manufactures say do not use a primer, but others do and furnish a High Temp primer product.

Be sure to Read the directions on the can.

I paint the muffler with hi temp engine/exhaust paint. I just rattle can it and touch up as needed. I did do the rear brakes the same way, but with the Cobalt wheels, you don't see much of the drums or calipers.

JACKSTANDS AND JACK KIT FROM AUTOZONE ETC ABOUT $25-$40. Do the front then the back. I didnt take mt calipers or drums off, cleaned them with brakeclean and a brush, washed and dried. Got cardboard and masking tape, used it to block off what I didnt want to paint. Like Solman said, just needs to be touched up every now and then. Half a days work. Cake.

The rustoleum paint should work fine.

But if you want to look at the VHT Product and detailed info.
Go to www. TCPglobal.com
scroll down to high temp paints left side.
Look for Caliper paint or

# SP 734 Gloss Black Rattle can
# SP 739 Satin Black Rattle can

Comes in other colors too.

Rustoleum is Gloss black

Jack, remove wheel, mask, spray, unmask, replace wheel, lower jack...... Rocket science!
