Thought I'd chime in...
Bought one for my HHR a couple of weeks ago. It's the style that can be extended. I live in a very hilly semi rural area in NY. Overall reception is weaker (which should be of no surprise). On local stations I've mainly noticed RDS info not updating much of the time. Occasional minor fade out here and there. Semi distant stations do have a bit more noise, though I don't find it objectionable.
I like the look so I believe the trade off to be fair.

Just went on evilbay, they sell a 223 cal stub.
Being I shoot 2 or 3 days a week the guys would get a kick when they see that??
Wonder if someone makes a nub that would all but get rid of the ugly stick??
