Just looked up on Sylvania and the HHR and my Corvette have the same "stop," "tail," rear turn, and reverse light bulbs so hopefully there'll be a lot of plug and play. Do both lights blink during the turn signal operation? In addition to all this madness, I plan on modifying the turn signal to become sequential ( like the new Mustangs). There's a kit out there for the Vette, to my understanding it just slow down the "blink" of one the lights and hoping I could still do that with this swap.
Thanks again for helping the HHR outsider guy

My understanding on the IPCW lights that the backup light has the running light function also but not the brighter brake light function. Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think thats how they work. So only the upper light has running light and brake light function.

Jason, I hope this helps

Two wires coming out of the back of the IPCW's one for the bulb connection, second for the running light led's. The big one is for the stopping led's and the smaller one is for the running led's. When you go to hook up the IPCW's, all you do with the existing wiring is remove the bulb. Not the light bracket or anything. Then snap them into place, yes for the big ones it can be tough, and remember for all hook ups BLACK TO BLACK. Also, recommend you hold onto the bracket in the back of the light assembly when you pull it out, and insert the IPCW right away, saves a lot of time.

On my vette both of the lights light up when turning, so that is the biggest hurdle, electronically anyway. Are there any wiring geniuses that could chime in with a way to wire both to activate when turning? Would there need to be a 3rd circuit on the " bottom" light for - stop, reverse and turn?

Couldn't you just splice off the signal wire to the ring wire for the bottom light and tie those together? So you would get the bottom ring and upper center blinking. But other than both outer rings blinking, I have NO idea. Sorry.
