Hooking up dash cam to switched power
Hooking up dash cam to switched power
I have a 12v USB 2 wire module that I want to hook up to a switched power source so the dash cam comes on when I start the car.
Does anyone know of a switched power source in the passenger fuse box?
or another way to turn on the 12v usb adapter when the car turns on?
I forgot where I tapped into for the fog lights (they come on when the car is on) which are on a relay.
I've been thinking of making a run of wires for power, ground and ignition which would be located near the floor vents to have a centralized access point for all 3 items. Fused, of course. I've already got a small run for power and ground for switches, head unit, volt meter, etc. (Head unit is turned on by switch)
does anyone know of a MAIN ignition turn-on point to tap into? Under the hood, inside, kick panel wire, etc??
I generally don't like touching the ignition column wires and running taps off of them if I can avoid it.
