I am attempting to install a retro-light, like the one Lee333 installed and need 12 volts. I have a sunroof, compass on the mirror, etc. When I pulled out the holder which attaches the sunroof switches and LED light, I can see two wires - one seems to have a threaded metal twist on it, the other is way up there and seems to be capable of detaching from wherever it goes.

My question is: Does anyone know what this wire is for and whether it has 12 volts going through it? I'll try to get a meter on it, but I could use some help on this one.

Found my own answer. Wire under LED light going across has 12 volts and will allow me to hook up a maplight. Will submit photos when done.
