Guys... I was eager to check out this place now before we went any further so me and Mrs. Doc hopped in the HHR around 3:30 today and motored over to Batavia. I gotta say that the only thing that would make this place more perfect for us would be if they had "HHR" in the name! It's in an old newspaper building and the decor can best be described as '50's roadhouse..Southern style! The food is great. We opted for the barbeque combo platters...ribs and brisket for me, ribs and chicken for the ol' lady, couple of sides, a slab of cornbread and all washed down with some ice cold brews. Lots of other choices on the menu to appeal to all tastes, and the prices are about in the Applebee's range.

I spoke with the manager and explained who we are and what we drive and he seemed genuinely pleased to have us coming over. They normally open at 4 but he said if we want to come earlier he'll open just for us. There's a couple of parking lots across the street that can easily accommodate all our wagons and if we're lucky we could fit them all in right next door to the restaurant in front of some cool lifesize gasoline alley type murals.

All in all, it looks like the perfect spot to gather and renew acquaintances, plan our warm weather events and have some good food and drink to boot!

Here's a few pics we took to give you an idea of the place.

Tom, got your e-mail late.
I knew you would like the place. Glad you liked the food and thought the prices were reasonable.
I vote for the smokehouse on Feb 16th. Possibly all cruise in together.
What's everyone else think.

OK...if there are no serious objections to Saturday 2/16/08 let's go for it. We could set the following week (2/23) as the rain date...um, I mean BLIZZARD date. Any thoughts as to meeting time? Weather conditions notwithstanding some daylight time to take pics and check out latest mods would be nice.

I vote "Yea" for this as well. Looks awesome, and the photo-op chance si just too good.

As far as cruising in, maybe if there's a convenient meeting place a few blocks away, we can form up there, then cruise over together? If not, I'm cool with just meeting there.

How's everyone feel about meeting there appx. 2pm? Give us an hour or more to check out all our rides, get photos, then go in and divide and conquer?

This event has been placed on the Events calendar, both the original date and the "Snow date."

I also placed the GM Powertrain show on the calendar.
