Thanks, Super Chevy Show next weekend. 500+ in the show. 1st year in the modified class. I've been the only hhr and the only ecotec the last 2 years.

^ Can't say I'm not surprised. My dad and I went to Super Chevy in Memphis back in 2012. I'm assuming that's the same one you're going to based on your location in northern Mississippi and even then I was the only HHR and he was the only Cobalt there that year. It's a shame nothing has changed, but there is still a lot of nice cars that show up. I'd probably be there with you, but I no longer have the HHR and he no longer has the Cobalt. Plus I live further away from Memphis now than I used to. That being said I wish you the best of luck at the show next weekend and your HHR looks great!

Gonna be tough running in the modified class with the handful of mods done. I'd suggest maybe looking at a new set of wheels and a few other exterior and interior mods to help you stand out. Someone that doesn't know these cars aren't going to know that you are sitting on a set of coils with a big brake kit, tune etc. Get you a pattern, get some interior parts off to a hydrodipper, new set of wheel (3-piece if you can stomach the cost), maybe a set of custom made retro projector headlights...that thing could do really well! I've always loved the color.

thanks everybody. 5k on turbo, intercooler, exhaust, and tuning has depleted the mod budget for now. I'm going to enjoy the car this summer, Super Chevy, Hot Rod Power Tour, and Relaxed Atmosphere All Star Event are planned this year.

I know the feeling about stretching the budget. You'd be surprised how cheap hydrodipping is. I've got quoted $150 to do the waterfall, the two steering wheel controls and a handful of other interior and motor pieces. A nice themed interior can really earn show points. The SS wheels are already nice but people look for the cars with the aftermarket wheels in shows. I've had vehicles with just a handful of mods go against others in modded classes and it's a tough win. Good luck with it though...I definitely like what you have going.

Show is show, not show how much you can match all the other cars!
Keep it personal as you want it to be, not what you think the judges want to see!
Simple and clean can go along way!!!
