I don't know if carfax goes back to '87??? Worth a shot, if it's not there, it's not there. Some states don't allow a private citizen to do a title search and some do.... If you can't then a used car lot would be able to.....

All you have to do is get your friend (or whoever was the last registered owner of the blazer) go down to the DMV and apply for a lost title

Not really. Hardest part is usually finding the last registered owner. I've done it before. Took about 20 minutes to fill out the paperwork, and about 3 weeks to get the title in

From what I understand from my friend is that, they got the car from the last person, they had seen the title before they got the car, but the guy moved , and in that process lost the title,

As long as you have a bill of sale from the last registered owner your good to go.

I would have gotten a refund though with no title.

I haven't payed for it yet, but its sitting there for me if I find the title

As far the title issue, this is a VERY clean car, and it is a deal I can't pass

I meant your friend should have gotten the refund.

Clean is great, but if you can't drive it legally, no so good. First stop, go by your local DMV and see what is reguired. They could issue a replacement title with a statement similiar to "Subject to original title if found".

Back in '77-78 I bought a '70 Trans Am..... also a very clean car I couldn't pass on...... I almost cried when I had to part it out because of "no title"..... I mean I made money but really wanted that car to drive.
