What Kind of Camera Do You Use?

Hmmmmm, let's see, My main camera at the moment is a Sigma 14D. My lens of choice for it has been a 17-35. I also have a 28-300 for it, but have found little need for it as of late. My old camera ( which needs looking at due to it developing some issues ) is a Minolta Maxxum 7D. I really like the feel of that camera, mainly because it was built on a film body. I have some pos Sony cybershot, and for underwater shooting I use a Sealife Reefmaster Mini. I bought my lovely wifey an Olympus E-520 for xmas last year and plan on getting the underwater housing for it soon. I like the Minolta ( now Sony ) and olympus for the fact that the IS is in the body, so glass tends to be a bit cheaper. One nice thing about the Sigma is that by removing the dust shield I can go IR, with the appropriate Cokin P series filter attached. The Sigma also has a feel as close to film as I've dealt with, but the primary colors can burn a bit. I just got back from St. Thomas and have about 1000 shots to go through, but I'll have up some shots from the Sigma while I was parasailing soon. This is an IR shot I took last year.

Me too, I have a friend that does weddings, and he has a D70 with the high pass filter removed from in front of the CCD to allow for the quicker shutter speeds which allows for people picture taking in IR. Really wild stuff. 
The Sony is cool because it uses floppy disks.....

On the Sigma the dust shield is the IR filter as well, so I remove it, then add a Cokin P007 to essentially block most visible light ( I think the cutoff on the 007 is 720. ). The nice thing about using a cokin as opposed to a screw on filter is that I can remove it for framing and focus, then replace it easily.

Very true, I like the Cokin system as you can stack filters and also switch from lens to lens versus buying different filters for each lens. I know there is company out there that removes the high pass filter and adjusts the autofocus for IR shooting. Of course then your camera is always an IR camera unless you can put the filter back on, which may be easier for the Sigmas then the the others like Nikon or Cannon.
