Exclamation Wrecked HHR

Yesterday we were preparing Smoke for his trip to Tulsa for the Kicks On Route 66 G2G. One of the things we were doing was pulling the brake drums to paint them so they didn't match my HHR color. One seemed to be nearly welded on, so we used a small pry bar and a small piece of the drum broke off, so we needed to replace it.

Not mine though But made ya look to find out if it was Smoke.

Anyway...called around town and could not find a new one anywhere, so we drove 90 miles round trip in my boyfriends truck to pick up one from a junk yard off the car below for $25.

I must say, that while it was a total mess, I was very impressed that the entire cabin area was intact. Speaks volumes for the safety of the passengers in my book.

And several cars away was this little gem.
It certainly didn't fare as well as it's Chevrolet counterpart.

For those who might be interested in pieces and parts off this car, the place is called Western Auto Recycling and they are located in Byers, Colorado.

Wow - I couldn't even tell that was an HHR from the front shot.

Well I was looking to see where the air filter for the HHR was as I need to change mine out....I'd rather do it the right way though instead of taking this shortcut!
