Question 06 HHR LT 2.4 Engine power reduced engine no crank Fathers Day Fiasco

Hello Everyone, I am in need of some advice & guidance on what to do with my girlfriends HHR. This last Father's Day she discovered 3 feral kittens in her engine compartment. They were tangled up in the harness next to the fuse block, the PCM, & TCM. So I had to remove basically the top of everything to get them out. After putting it all back together the car was driven 3 times for very short distances. Then the battery died, then while trying to jump it, the (+) stud on the fuse block broke off. So that required fuse block replacement. Then had to replace the (+) cable from the stud to the starter. Which then the stud on the starter broke off. So replaced the starter. Also while I was at the starter I went ahead and replaced the fuse Link between the starter & the alternator. Also replaced the battery. So I have replaced the: Battery, Starter, Fuse block, (+) positive cable, Fuse link from starter to Alternator. Now it does no crank at all & has the following codes: P1516 - P2101 - P0689 -P1682 - U0101 - U2106. I just don't have any more $ to be taking this damn thing to an over priced dealership service department just to have them replace **** that may or may not need replacement just to hook up some damn bi-directional scan tool and press a couple buttons to truly fix it. Then charge me $2500 dollars for hooking up a scan tool and pressing a button. So please any advice would be great. I've worked in repair shops off and on my entire life I do most repairs on my vehicles over the last 25 years. I just don't have the ability to toss down the funds for a thousand dollar scan tool, then more $ for the software for a specific model, then more $ for a specific cable to connect to that car, then $ for an update in the software, & etc. .... I've got a bad heart so I can't work a lot anymore. So please any advice other than taking it to a dealership.

I only made it through half of the wall of words but I think you are saying lots of things don't have power.
The 4 bolts inside the fuse box need to be MUCH tighter than "tight". Almost everyone that has ever replaced the fuse box has the same problem; 3 this week

Yes thank you for the idea however I know about the 4 main bolts for the fuse box needing to be as tight as possible. If there is any other ideas anyone could come up with please let me know. Does any one know if it would cause any damage if I jump the starter to at least get the engine to crank?

You can jump the starter. Check relay #34 and fuse #5

Thank you for the relay numbers I will try to jump it the next time I work on it. Like I said in my original post. I've got a bad heart and the heat in Phoenix has been a bit too much for me the last few days. But thank you again.

Well thanks again to the person that gave me the relay & fuse number. I appreciate anybody's ideas &advice they may have. As for the 06 2.4LT I have managed to jump the relay to test the new starter however it is still a no crank, no start situation with several obd codes. It started out throwing about 10 codes right after the kitten fiasco this last Father's day. I have got it down to it just throwing 3 codes as of yesterday. The codes are "P1682- DRIVER 5 LINE 2",
"P1516- Throttle Actuator Control Module
& "P2101- Throttle Actuator Position Performance".
The dash cluster still says Reduced engine performance. With the check engine MIL lamp on. Does any one in this forum that owns the tech 2 bi-directional scanner/programmer with Chevrolet software by chance live near Glendale, AZ. ? I could really use the help. Let me know. Thanks

Have the ignition related recalls been performed? Link to check your recall status in my signature.

Examine the wires going to the throttle body and the wires and connectors to the ECM
I don't know where that definition for P1682 came from; It is really "Ignition 1 Switch Circuit 2". It means the run/crank relay is shorting or open.
They are all related. I would be suspecting the run/crank relay.
Please look at the links in my sig "FREE shop manuals".
