06 hhr no rear running lights
Hello i am new to the forum, i just bought a 06 hhr about a week ago and it has a bunch of electrical issues. The rear brake lights work turn signals work reverse lights work but the running rear lights do not. All the fuses and relays are good and i do have power to the sockets in the rear but the running lights just dont work. I also have no front wipers and my cruse control does not work. I dont know if they are a related issue but i really need some help because it is illegal to drive at night.

Deleted my post since I re-read this and I'm not sure if you're referring to the side markers or the parking light function of the tail lamps. If its the side markers, I'd check for socket corrosion, otherwise I'm thinking wiring issue or problem in the fuse box.

I f you purchased from an auto dealer, I would go back to them......especially if the taillights have not been working since you purchased the car. It's an unsafe vehicle. See if the dealer will do something.
But be informed....the early models of the HHR's were notorious for electrical problems. It seems like the owners that experience problems are continually plagued by troubles. Those that had none or very little possess a unique vehicle. It's almost like many were built Monday morning after a holiday weekend, and all the assembly went to crap.
Anyway, it sounds like someone somehow confused the wiring, which is a little bit tricky to work out. Also, check the taillight fuse SOCKET for power...but I suspect if the duplex bulbs are working partially, in other functions, the "juice" is there.
Somebody correct me, if I'm wrong...are the taillights controlled by the BCM.

From looking at the service manual and wiring diagrams, you're having an issue with the BCM or Body Control Module. Everything is controlled by and from the BCM, lights, wipers, etc. I'd take it to a dealer you trust or a very competent mechanic and have them hook up a scan tool to pinpoint the fault. Most likely you'll be replacing the BCM and that will correct the faults.
