New time chain on 08 HHR (D)vin set #1 cylinder TDC ,crank on 5 o'clock, intake 2 o'clock, exhaust 10 ten o'clock, aligned gold chain marks .
turn crank with all tensioners on by hand to check clearance clock wise few times but every other revolution it has slack between ext and intake pulley then tight.
Still have TDC and ext and intake are at 10 and 2
What did I do wrong

 

The tensioner needs to be popped?
You are too young to know the difference between clockwise an counter-clockwise.

 

X2, pop the tensioner and stop turning the crankshaft

 

I tried to explain on the Facebook Page that the tensioner needs to be manually released or popped prior to start up after replacement and it fell on deaf ears, even being told I was wrong in thinking that lol.
