100,000 mile service

I have an 09 2.2lt with 92,500+ miles on it. The driving I do is 70% Hwy / 30% City. As I approach the 100,000 mile mark, I'm starting to look at what service needs to be done. According to the service manual, aside from a few inspections (Exhaust, hoses, etc...) the only "major" items seem to be the spark plugs & tranny fluid. I had a local oil/lube place tell me that they could perform the 100,000 mile service for a mere $785. i guess my question is, should I just do those inspections myself and give it to my dealer for the plugs & tranny fluid or just do it all myself? The plugs seem pretty straight forward, tranny fluid change, not so sure about. What do you folks think? Any info would be appreciated, Thanks.

Spark plugs are easy enough. Tranny service (fluid & filter) depends on your mechanical ability, etc... There are some great How To's here in that section, that could help guide you...

I'm assuming you mean AUTO tranny ?

Yes, it's an auto tranny. I may tackle the plugs and have the dealer do the tranny fluid, less mess for me to clean up...:) Thanks.

Yes, that may be best...

Might think about changing the anti-freeze (Dex-Cool) if it's time too...

Sleeper has definitely pointed you in the right direction. And if you are getting any noise from the front suspension it would be a good idea to check the sway bar links, the inboard sway bar bushings, and the lower control arm bushings.

Add checking the front struts and rear shocks for any leaks to the list, as well as a visual on the brake pads/shoes for wear.

All good ideas, thanks folks. I am having the "usual" front end clunking noises going on. I've done the struts, rear shocks, new rotors & front pads. Are the sway bar bushings, links & control arm bushings covered under the powertrain warranty? I need to keep this lil baby running for sometime to come so, all this info helps, Thanks. BTW, Sleeper....good heads up about flushing the coolant. I forgot about that.

Not sure about the warranty on those swaybar/control arm parts - I kinda doubt it, but there is a list posted somewhere here on the coverage.

The Sway bar links are an easy and inexpensive replacement (a pair of MOOG links are probably in the <$50 range), and the sway bar bushings are cheap (<$25), but a bit of a pain to change. Control arms are not that hard to replace, but can be a bit pricey someone said here.

$785 sound high to me. Four spark plugs ($6/plug). I had mine done at my local shop and didn't spend that much for coolant flush, transmission flush. I had all the brakes replaced at the same time new rotors, pads, rear drums and shoes all around 92K miles.
