2 Blown Headlights.... Help!

I've blown 2 front left headlights in 3 weeks, any idea as to what could be happening?

Sounds like a trip to the dealership to have them fix it.. Also, look for TSB's relating to this.

Just a thought......did you touch the bulbs with your bare fingers while installing them?

My thought as well..... good idea to clean the bulb with alcohol, let dry completely and use gloves for the install.

Yes, gloves were used.

The first light that blew was a stock bulb, the 2nd was an aftermarket.

Then maybe you got something the dealer should look at..... Or the aftermarket replacement was just a bad bulb. (happens) You still got your bumper to bumper warranty I would imagine.

You could have gotten a bad bulb the second time around, if it was dropped onto a hard surface at the store it would be enough to possibly damage the filament. As Greybeard advised, clean the new bulb carefully with alcohol before installation and maybe the third time will be the charm. I'd save the 2nd bulb that failed and return it to the manufacturer as defective, see what they say, you might get your money back.

If you're out of warranty and want to try something, make sure the front end harness is secured properly in the underside of the fuseblock-in fact make sure ALL of your fuses in the box are pushed down all the way on TOP of it first, might be loose. Mine were. That driver side front lamp is the first in the series circuit and is the most sensitive to voltage deviations. Too much current or a sharp off/on is enough to blow it.

Good luck.
