2006 hhr p0036 & p0300

My HHR just started acting up and it's throwing trouble codes P0036 (downstream O2 sensor) & P0300 (random misfire). The vehicle was acting up & had a bad cell in the battery. I replaced the battery and we accidentally left the MAF unplugged and a friend left a rag in the throttle body (long story). I plugged in the MAF, and the engineer disabled itself. I hatched and found the rag wedging the throttle body open. Once removed the engine turned over and was misfiring. The code for the O2 sensor got thrown, then the code for the random misfire.

Vehicle has 148K on it and both the plugs and upstream O2 sensor have ~20K on them. The downstream sensor is original (148K on it).

I've ordered a new, downstream, O2 sensor. Anything else I should check or order while I'm at it?

Possibly a damaged throttle body...

OK explain somethings you wrote.
"The vehicle was acting up h&a bad feel in the battery" What is h&a bad feel in battery ?
" accidentally left the MAF unplugged " Why did you do this when all you did was install a new battery ?
" left a rag in the throttle body " Again don't understand the logic of what you wanted to fix ?
" plugged in the MAF, and the engineer disabled itself." Are you saying the Engine didn't run now ?
" The code for the O2 sensor got thrown, then the video for the random misfire." What video ?

Autocorrect error...fixed it
" accidentally left the MAF unplugged " Why did you do this when all you did was install a new battery ?
B/C the TB was inspected due to rough idle b4 checking/replacing the battery.

Temporarily due to rag in TB...
" The code for the O2 sensor got thrown, then the video for the random misfire." What video ?
S8 autocorrect, if you have an S8, you'll understand...there's no video

Anyways.... Rag in throttle body probably screwed up the gears when it got sucked inside while trying to start the engine... Your buddy owes you a TB, or not. Somebody is likely going to have to pay for a new one.

P0036 actuall means #2 O2 sensor heater control circuit. Probably means worn out sensor, but could be a fried wire.

P0300 does NOT mean random misfire. It means unidentified misfire, not necessarily a real misfire. If you have a 2.2L engine you may need a new spark module/coil box.
