If that's the case, I'm selling it.

Next would be a compression test. The way the ICM works is called "compression sense ignition" it is compression that alters the signal from the spark plug. Then all of that data goes to the ECM which controls the injectors.
I said "resistance" earlier for simplicity.

I'm pretty sure you've forgotten more than I know about automobiles. Thank you for your assistance.

I replaced the thermostat per the instructions on another thread and am currently test driving. Thus far temperatures are roughly 192° +/-2.5°. The HHR definitely seems to be happier.

The attached thingamajig was immensely helpful for carefully opening and closing the petkawk valve.

It's still shuddering but only at idle.
It's not shuddering as bad as it was, but it's noticable.
I'll post compression readings once it stops raining.

compression Readings

Cylinder 1, 165#
Cylinder 2, 170#
Cylinder 3, 163#
Cylinder 4, 173#

All plugs looked like the one in the attached image.
All cylinders kept pressure for ~1minute before I manually released the pressure.

compression seems ok, plugs look good, take a picture of the butterfly plate in the throttle body, is it clean.
