2009 2.4 2LT Traction Control Problems
My 2009 2LT 2.4 has 20,000 miles. Automatic transmission.
Several weeks ago I noticed then when driven in the morning for the first 2 miles or so it doesn't want to shift into the final gear as it should. Then at about the 1-1/2 mile mark each morning when entering a turn at approx 35 mph it shuttered and a (ESC ? can't remember exactly) traction Control Code flashed on the dash. That would go away and everything was fine.
Then yesterday after having driven 25 miles, I entered a sharp curve at approx 48mph and the car jolted noticably throwning me forward, then another "traction error code" flashed on the dash.
WHAT's Up with this? Anyone know?

Not to little the point but my dealer's mechanics alsways share with me what part failed causing the problem. I was not tryhing to be smart but these machines are very sophiscated and often the only way to troubleshoot effectively is to use test equipment to isolate the problem. Any thing else often results with spending or throwing time and money at a problem using the "I think " process. I had a similiar problem and the part that failed was associated with the exhause system, isolated by the dealer using their test equipment. There are too many parts associated with the TC system to guess what's wrong.
Actually, the car won't shift into top gear until the transmission reaches a certain temperature, so that behavior sounds normal. As for the other problems with the ESC and traction control, they are not normal and yes you really do need to visit the dealer for a diagnosis.
