2009 HHR Bluetooth does not work
I have a 2009 LT and have tried to get the bluetooth to work, following the car manuel instructions. It does nothing. I have had this car since 2010 and love it, although there have been a few problems but have just now tried to use the bluetooth. Am I doing something wrong??? press the button on the steering wheel for 2 seconds and suppose to get a reponse and then a dinging sound to pair the phone with. I get nothing except to mute the radio.
Second problem is a bumping/knocking noise coming from the front suspension anytime I go over a bump. This has been going on for several years now. I have replaced the struts but its still there. I thought I read somewhere that this is an ongoing problem with the HHR. Any help and info would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site.
Not to state the obvious, but are you sure your car has the Bluetooth system ? Not all of them came with it.
Sounds like you are attempting the 1st step correctly, providing that you are pressing the correct button.
I've paired up 2 different phones to the Bluetooth on my 2010. Worked both times on the 1st try.

Thats what I was told by the dearlership and the paperwork I recieved when I bought it.When I bought the car there some screwy things wrong with the buttons on the steering wheel, since it was stolen prior to me burying it certain things did not work like the buttons for volume control on the steering wheel and a couple other things. The people who stole the car went for the airbags and apparently yanked them out along with some wires. Got that fixed but never tried the Bluetooth. As I said, the dealership and paperwork stated it is suppose to be there. The car has all the extra's, really decked out.

As per Chevymgr from a few years back "Your vehicle has to have RPO code UPF to have bluetooth. RPO codes are found on a label in the glove box" - so check your label in the glove box.
As far as noisy suspension - there can obviously be several causes: sway links, sway bar bushings, rear bushing on the lower control arms. Much info can be found on diagnosing/fixing each of them by using the SEARCH tool at the top of the page.

Well. If the car was stolen, damaged then pieced back together, I may not be able to help you.
If the radio was also taken, the dealer could have replaced it with a non-Bluetooth unit. Even if the paperwork and RPO code show Bluetooth, it may not have it anymore.
