Hello everyone I wonder if you can tell me I'm new to this car and I had an exhaust put on they took off the old Muffler put on a resonator to quiet it down a little bit and I was driving the other day and all of a sudden at around 1500 RPM it starts to hesitate but then when I step on the gas it goes away or anything under 1,500 rpm I find that kind of strange and I also noticed that the intake the old piping is gone on the engine there's no intake I don't know if that has anything to do with it if anyone can give me a little bit of a hint where I could start looking before I have a mechanic tear it apart maybe you can give me a little bit of insight thank you
By old intake piping you mean the woolly worm from the air cleaner box to the fender?
The round tube
That maybe a problem, I suggest you clean the throttle body and MAF sensor, make sure the MAF connector is firmly connected to the MAF.
seeing as you are new to the HHR , tighten the 4 7mm bolts in the under hood fuse box .
Hi thank you yes the wooly worm looking piping is missing I didn't know if that had anything to do with the hesitation at the 15 RPM maybe I should get a new one I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not but yes that is what's missing
So I put an intake on my car and it still hesitates at around 1500 RPM a little bit as I'm driving if I go over it it's fine if I go under it it's fine it's only at that certain time which I find odd maybe I need a tune-up I was thinking to change the spark plugs if it's not that hard maybe I'll just go put some spark plugs and wires on it I don't know I don't know what else to think the air cleaner is okay the gas is good I guess I'll just keep trying
There are no wires to the spark plugs and these SS 2.0 cars run best with 41-108 AC Delco iridium plugs, do not gap them as you will see that little whisker is very fragile.
The car is still hesitating at 1500 RPM it just goes idles up and down a little bit weird and then it clears up after that so strange maybe it was the new exhaust that I put on because I don't have a muffler maybe that has something to do with it I don't know the engine seems to be fine even at a complete stop it idles nice
