2009 HHR Power Steering Motor
one was recalls where 14115 was present and cleared.
If they can't find it on GM they certainly couild download it from NHTSA.gov. You can call GM Regional; just go to the local Service Manager not the pinhead service writer and ask for contact info.
Well, then it has been done once. You need to figure out if they used old stock parts or the new part. If it was the old part that is specifically covered.
The good news is the motor is under $100 and 15 minutes work, if you know which end of the butter knife to use as a screwdriver.

So went back out to the car, QQ: SHould i feel the steering wheel harder to move? Because i Dont. It feels like a normal wheel with power steering. Im old enough to know what a non power steering wheel feels like.
So tomorrow when i got back out i will pull the 60 amp fuse and feel the wheel.
Lets assume that the motor is working, what else would trigger the "power steering" message on the dash?

I did some reading on this and have questions.
Why isn't a check engine light on for this ?
Only non turbo HHR's 2009-2010. Why not the SS ?
Why early years don't have this issue ?
As someone on this forum said "the dealer only took 10 minutes to fix the problem" that's a fuse change to me.
It isn't hard to just change the electric motor, if that's the backbone to the problem. But how to prove it ?
