2011 Chevy HHR Misfire
2011 Chevy HHR Misfire
I have a 2011 Chevy HHR.
I recently changed out the condenser and recharged the A/C cause she hasn't had A/C since I got her a year ago (condenser had a hole).
When the A/C is on the engine runs really rough, otherwise she runs just fine. The engine light is on and code readers are saying there is a random misfire.
The "SERVICE TRACTION" and "SERVICE ESC" are constantly one. Occasionally my car will do the little seatbelt ding to remind me. But this has been on since I got the car.
I'm the last year these are the parts I've replaced, just to kind of eliminate what might be the issue:
BatteryAlternator Front, lower control armsBreaksRotorsMAF sensorIntake and Exhaust solenoidsWooly hose Radiator hoseCabin air filterSpark plugsCoil packsCompressorCoolant reservoirNegative battery cable/terminal
Rear shocks (in shop)
I have no idea what else it could be and I really don't wanna take her to a shop when I can probably do it myself.

I didn't waste money on good parts (stuff needed to be replaced) and I ain't worried about money. I had fun messing around with her, it was also good learning and I LIKE working on my car.
I have the codes: P0300 and P0301.
I can get a multimeter from work and I do know how to use it.
However, I think I would prefer help/advice from someone not so condescending. Thanks though 🤙

P0301 points to cylinder #1 misfire. I would do a compression test.
P0300 is just a general code for misfire detected.
The traction and esc light are most likely on because the CEL is illuminated. It just means the computer has shut off those 2 systems because of that CEL.

Move the #1 spark plug to #2, and the #1 coil to #3. See if the code changes to follow one of these parts.
Did you install ACDelco 41-103 spark plugs? These engines can be pretty finicky for these plugs.
