Bought 2011 HHR Monday, code P0100, bad intake duct?
Monday I bought a 2011 Chevy HHR 2.2l. It did fine during the test drive and on the 30 mile ride home. Went out later that evening and the check engine light came on.
Code pulled P0100 and nothing else. There were no symptoms until this afternoon. Was sitting in park and it was having power issues and felt like it was going to stall. I turned it off and back on, it was a rough start but made it home with no other issue.
I contacted someone more mechanically inclined and was told to check the air filter. While looking to see if I could spot it without pulling the engine cover off i found that the hose is ripped.
Now clearly I know i need to replace this. But I'm having trouble even figuring out what the part number is.
Also wondering if this is likely to be the cause of the code, or just one of the problems?
We did look under the hood when buying it but the way it was tucked into itself it wasn't spotted until I was moving things around today.
First photo is from before I moved it.

No, but probably somebody forgot to plug the MAF back in after a new air filter. Maybe just not plugged in right. It is the module on the tube from the filter to the throttle body.
You can replace the intake hose with Dryer vent hose from the hardware store. Or, wrap it with metallic duct tape. It gets torn when somebody cleans the engine with pressure.

The MAF is located here as Donbrew stated under the air cleaner box, it might not be plugged in
The air intake duct, commonly referred to as the woolly worm can be taped up, replaced with metal dryer vent flexible tubing . Part number Genuine GM 15865168 Air Intake Duct, Front be prepared for sticker shock they are expensive.

Thank you all. I wrapped it with the HVAC duct tape, unplugged and replugged in the MAF sensor. Just took it for a quick ride around and let it idle at home for several minutes and no trouble. But I only had the issue once since I got it and I've done plenty of driving, especially idling since school started and the pick-up lines take so long.
The dealer said today that he will have his mechanic take a look sometime soon, and hopefully make things right so the check engine light goes off.
But in the meantime, should I consider it safe to drive now that the hole is patched? And if it happens again, the rough idle feeling like it's going to stall, is my best bet to do what I did the last time - shut it off and turn it back on - or instead give it some gas?
