8th trip to service!

We had the SS back for the weekend and reverse still wasn't working so my husband sent it back in. We dropped it Monday, and we got a call this morning saying that the clutch stuck to the floor again while they were testing it, something that we thought was fixed. We have told them several times that the slave cylinder should have been replaced along with the master and now they are pulling out the tranny. GM's general manager for our area is involved, again, and they are sending engineers down to look at it. So far in the past month I have driven courtesy vehicles more than my own. I've had a 2010 traverse, seirra and now I'm in a lucerne. Pretty soon I'll be ablt to start my own version of car and driver: courtesy vehicle edition!

Its one of the weak spots in this iteration of the Getrag trans - you're telling them the right thing, its likely the slave cylinder. It happens in the Vue with this trans too.

They have to remove the trans to replace it, maybe that's why they don't want to do it?

Good Luck

Well, they finally decided that it's the slave cylinder and they ordered the part. They said I should have my car back Saturday. SO can't wait.

GM must be setting records for the number of times customers' HHR's go in and out of the shop for the same problem. We had the same experience with our '06, radio problems (9 visits), struts/front end (5 visits), transmission not locking (3 visits). We drove a lot of rentals in the 4 years we had ours as well, but GM customer service didn't feel it was an issue worth dealing with, blew us off every time we called to get some assistance.

I'm just glad from reading on this board we weren't the only suckers getting bad service!

The only thing GM customer service did accomplish was helping me understand one of the reasons the company was going broke and why no one wanted their cars...customer service can go a long way, I know it has convinced me to never buy another GM product. JOB WELL DONE GENERAL!!
