abs light

I have a 2009 HHR with 60,000 miles. The abs light came on. can I repair this problem or take it to a dealer?

If it came on then went off immediately, that means it activated on a slick spot.

Do you mean the light came on and stayed on?

That means something is wrong with the brakes. If you don't know how to diagnose and fix brakes you should immediately get to someone who does. No need for a dealer, since you are out of 3/36 warranty.

Hey fsc44,

Do you have a relationship with a dealer that you like? If you would like help setting up an appointment or locating a dealership near you, let us know via PM, and we would be glad to assist. Please include your full name and contact information, VIN, current mileage, and preferred dealership.

Sincerely,

Jonathan A.

I would contact my dealer. if it has a faulty wheel speed sensor you may be able to get it under your powertrain warranty. the speed sensors are sold with the wheel bearing which is covered under warranty if you are the original. dont hurt to ask.
