I was at Pepboys, and picked up a Purolator for about $6. They did not have the AC Delco. I'll have to call my local dealer and see what they charge.

Well, I stopped at the dealer today, and got one for $5.78 with tax. Not bad, since my dad buys Partsmaster for the G6, and those cost more, and are crappier! Sure the AC Delco doesn't come with that ring, but my dad never puts the new one on anyways...

What is this ring you speak of?

Just don't buy one that says Made In China unless you want to buy an engine too.

Ha ha..that's actually the first thing I looked at when he showed me the other brand they sell at the dealer. It was from Korea, but I still wanted AC. I mean, everything made in Bulgaria must be good!

The AC Delco one must have changed their supplier. I usually buy my filters at the Saturn dealer near me for just under 6 bucks and this time they came in a plastic bag instead of the box. Instead of being made in Germany these ones were made in Bulgaria. No different than the Fram or Supertech branded ones..probably all come off the same assembly line.

No auto parts stores here in my area carry the AC Delco branded filters, only dealers. I usually will use the Supertech if I don't make it to the dealer.

Yep...same here too. I was surprised to see it was in a bag as well. We'll see how good it works.

Fram, made in China, $10.00 at Wal-Mart, $5.00 at SuperStore. (All in Canada and CAD)
