Ac motor killing me!
Ac motor killing me!
Hello HHR lovers. My issue is a mystery to me. My AC blower motor has a mind of its own. It works when it wants, and this is soooo frustrating to me. I have checked motor, resistor, and power control switch. I gave up and the next day it started working like a charm..... then today..... oh well, summer in the south without air. I HATE CHEVY right now. I also checked wires to motor. They both show power and ground, then when its plugged into fan, I get both grounded. WTF.... no air and no fan, sigh..... I am at a loss, guess I will have to rig up a power source via toggle switch so I don't melt.
Well you've got an '06, so there's a fairly good chance that you've got a water leak into the dash causing your problem. Give this thread below a read...

Now the blower motor resistor is right in the path of the infamous "Butyl Patch Water Leak", and when it gets wet, it acts up. So give this thread a read....

No reason to hate your Chevy, but it'll take a couple of hours to fix, that's all.

This is his second posting in two days on the same problem - on his first posting several suggestions were put forth to help him out - and he never went back to acknowledge them.
Since he hasn't come back to this one either - CLOSED.
