AC problems 06 2.4

The ole ladies AC quit working. 06 2.4
The clutch kicks in, and the RPM drops like it's working. But hot air blows.
I let some 134a out and tried to put some in. No gauge, but it didn't take much if any 134a.
Any ideas what I should check? It just quit working out of nowhere.

Welcome to the site, I recommend you take it to a reputable A/C shop , but before you do check for loose connections, fuses and relays in the under hood fuse box and the HVAC head unit.

My advice is to start over. Evacuate the system and pull vacuum for 30 minutes. The system holds 14.4 ounces of R-134a, but add 16 ounces to account for what is in the gauge hoses. Carefully weigh the cans to get his right on a kitchen scale. If there are no leaks in the system add an ounce of oil to be sure. IF you have a good compressor the air temperature should drop 55-60 degrees. This is how I do systems with success every time.

That explains the reason you haven’t posted a follow up. But do let us know what resolved the AC problem
