Plausible, but bent pins are more likely

Cool. Have seen pin issues in the past. Easy enough to check and will do. (did seem to plug back in just fine.)
I *might* be OK for the inspection. I looked at a previous year's report, and no SRS/ABS on the safety aspect, just visual type stuff.
Will check the pins, If still there, will try an inspection and see what happens.

Thanks again guys! You guys are awesome.

Went out and checked. Pins were fine. BUT. Just to use one of my insults against me "Hire the handicapped. They are fun to watch"
Re-Scanned. Was there. Then I noticed it was listed as 'history 1/1'. Fumbled about a bit and just *reset* the code. (brainfart)
All's happy in HHR land again.
(I don't use the scanner much at all. Maybe once a year, just to play with it)

And thanks again all!

Is the code current, or historic? Does the safety inspector hook up to the car electronically, or is it just a visual?

Code seemed to be historic. Does a scan on connection, reported no current codes. I opted for the SRS (just in case that wasn't on the start up scan) and had it. (I missed that it was listed as history)
Once I reset the code (hadn't done that until after checking pins a few minutes ago), its gone. Followed up with a re-scan of the SRS, and nothing, just a happy blank screen.

They do hook up to the Ooby-Dooby port

If you just reset that code with your scanner, you should be fine. Doing it that way shouldn't affect any of the onboard emission tests that have to be complete when you get an inspection.
Now if you had done the battery disconnect that would have rebooted everything onboard and you would be riding around trying to get those emission tests to complete.

Didn't CCR do/cover that song too? That's what was in my mind. I like Roy's version better

My code readers only clear all codes, not individual. They're cheap, the bafx quit on me quite a while ago.
