I bought a 06 HHR with a blown air bag in the steering wheel Has any body replaced one and how

 

It has been done lots on her. Usually to add radio controls to the steering wheel or a wheel swap like I did to a smaller SS wheel.

Disconnect the battery first and leave it alone for 5 minutes or so. (If you have never worked with an air bag they can be dangerous) There is a small hole on either side of the steering wheel where you can put an allen wrench or something like it in and push on the tabs. It may take you a few tries to get the right spot, you will see the air bag move. Air bag pops loose. Be careful and disconnect the wiring. There were 2 small yellow retainers holding the wiring in on mine. Make sure you put them back in when you install the new air bag.

If you have to ask how to swap an airbag,,,,,well,,, don't try it yourself.
Very dangerous and deadly. Find a good body shop and/or mechanic to do the swap.
