Air Condition Running Intermittently

My '07 with 30700 miles is having air conditioning problems. Sometimes it works, other times not. Temperature was in high 80s yesterday and it worked for a few minutes then just blows hot.

Could I be low on refregerant? I have recharged quite a few over the years, but could use some help as to where low vs. high pressure valves are located. Also, what do you buy nowadays?

Finally, would this be covered under the 3/36000 warranty?

Should be covered under warranty, so get it looked at soon.
If it was a leak, I would think that once gone, its gone until repaired.
And around here, you have to be licensed to buy refrigerant.

Could be low on freon but could be the way you run the A/C. Here is SC in the summer if you run the A/C too long on recirculating you will ice the coil on the A/C until from not bringing in an fresh outside air. Were you on recirculate when this happened?? If so try using recirculate to get the car cool and then set it to fresh air and see if that helps.

Yes it could be low on freon, or whatever they now use. I have a Ford product that behaved exactly like you describe, recharging fixed it until the leak got worse, then a new compressor was the permanent fix. Definately get it handled under the warrantee, you don't even want to know what your cost would be, should you need a new compressor.
