My impression is the hydraulics with the electric steering is not properly centered. as an example on a r/c car, boat or plane, you can adjust the steering of the wheels or rudders with the trim on the controller.
Where exactly does hydraulics come into play on an HHR steering? Do you mean water sheeting on the road? Do you mean lack of grease in joints? Electric Power Steering does not mean that there is an electric hydraulic pump, it means that there is an electric motor assisting the steering shaft.

I think that GM may have just over corrected for torque steer. Or,...... parts are worn out and the technicians involved don't, won't, can't look at the correct parts.

And, I will take the heat one more time; THE ONLY STANDARD ADJUSTMENT TO AN HHR LS/LT FRONT END IS TOE! You can add a camber kit (maybe SS comes with). From the factory the only available adjustment is the front toe, if the rear toe is out you can do shims at your own risk. You should never have to worry about camber or caster on an HHR unless you A) race B) install different than OE tires/wheels C) lower or raise the body using the suspension vs. shimming the body panels, if that is even possible!!!!!!! All of the other parameters are set on the engineer's drafting board and take extreme measures to change. Sorry for the Exclamation Points.
