As I I said in post #7 one is longer by half an inch or so.

What is unclear is when you wrote "that could be the problem". Did you mean that the longer belt is the correct one and the tighter one can create problem?

The longer belt if on the wrong AC compressor would not allow the tensioner to apply tension. So my thoughts were, you have the longer belt in the car that requires a short belt. But it’s working now, right.

the shorter belt is very hard to get on the pullies of the longer belt AC compressor.
confusing but the compressor tells you which belt is required.
