Automatic headlights

Hey all. I just bought a 08 hhr to replace my 07 i totalled......yea it was ugly.
Anyway, the automatic headlights on my 08 are not working. I love this feature.
Any thoughts on what might be the issue? Also, the daytime running lights do not come on either. Same issue?

Maybe the former owner didn't like those features. Check and see if maybe the fuse or relay has been pulled to eliminate them.

Glad you got another HHR! It could be the multi-switch , mine went funny two years ago, but check the fuses and the under hood fuse box, and ground wires at the rad cradle

We are going to assume you tried rotating the headlight switch back to the little "power" symbol to reactivate them. Not being brutal, it just might be something overlooked.

If you disable the auto headlights with the headlight switch (either intentionally or accidentally), I think they automatically go back to auto mode when you restart the car next time.

I found out the hard way that if you turn the headlights to "ON"(up) they will stay on until the battery dies. But if you do the do the other way (down) "AUTO" is the automatic choice.

I appreciate all the ideas. I did find today that they are working ok. EXCEPT that the daytime running lights are not working.
Must have been fixed when the ignition was replace last week. I havn't driven it much in the last week. And almost never at night.

If I remember correctly there is a separate relay for the DRL.

Relay #28 under hood.
