Does anybody know what gauge battery cable we have? I need to install a switch to disconnect my ground until I figure out where the parasitic drain is coming from and I want to use the proper size It will be 4 feet long

Ground wire back by the battery and up under the hood from transmission to rad cradle is 2 gauge copper stranded wire

I was going to hook it to the battery ground, and mount the switch by the right rear back window on the cargo area, then run the ground to the same location as the original next to the battery Just something fast and easy

Right now it is a pain...I have to use a booster pack to unlock the doors and trunk to get to the the battery

 

Have you had the battery and charging system tested? Both tests are free at the auto parts store.

 

My battery was over 3 years old and starting to die, then after I got my new car and stopped driving my HHR every day it died. I checked the parasitic drain and it is high-.25 amps. Supposed to be under .05. So until I figure out why I want to disconnect the battery .

I have a voltmeter and the alternate is charging fine. (It is only a few years old)

I was shocked at the price of cables. I got close to a 50% discount and 2 four foot cables were close to $60 bucks

 

You can find the general area by pulling fuses. Modules and motors fuses are where to start.

 

My rat-rod solution to a battery disconnect switch. Looks like Frankensteins laboratory..lol

I had a new switch for a side mount battery which I adapted along with a piece of 2 x 4. The 2 four foot cables were expensive, probably due to the copper wire. Now I can just unlock the door with the key then reach back and throw the switch. Next step is figuring out what is drawing .25 amps-I will start with checking all the stuff I added to the wiring.

I wondered the same thing but it's fine. They just fill the available space. Having nothing to do with management, I can only speculate. It does save zooming without consuming any additional storage or bandwidth. If it's disturbing, turn your device to portrait mode and they get smaller, lol. If you're on a desktop just make the window narrower.

We used to get chided for uploading excessively large image files but I think management gave up because most users don't know a bit from a byte or a pixel from a vector. Better to just automatically compress large files upon upload.

It’s automatically set these days. I always had issues posting photos back in the day, then in 2015 I switched to an IPhone and problem solved.

 

Back in the days of AOL and pay by the minute with 600 baud modems that post would have taken 10 minutes to download. That is why there were limits. I would not like paying $7 to look at those pics.
