Battery checked out fine so I guess it was just the alternator. Was the original one anyway. Thanks again for the help with it.

 

The only time my battery light came on was about four years ago and it was because the alternator failed; in my case, it was an easy identification because you could hear the alternator from a block away. No issues with the charging system since.
