Battery went completly dead, now instrument cluster is not working
Problems/Service/RepairsIf you have a problem with your HHR, want a tip on repairing or performing a particular service to you HHR here is the place to post!
There is no connection between the ABS and the IPC.
Has the ignition recall been done?
The only common thing I can find is the Theft Deterrent Control Module which is mounted on the ignition switch.
Also the 2 ground locations g201 and g203 and the splice pack with a bunch of green wires (GMLAN low speed) sp206.
If I buy a replacement BCM will it work or will the car go into security lockdown? I would just like to see if my gauges come back.
Or when it was jumped, it wasn't done right, and something got shorted out.
Who was the other person who had very similar issues? Anyone remember?
ME...NOW on my 2010. Ive changed the fusebox under the hood, no change.
I also swapped the cluster with my other 2010 and no change. The non working then worked in the good vehicle, so ruled that out.
Ive changed the battery and cleaned all grounds.

HELP !!!!
Have you checked fuses #2 & #4 under hood and #7 & #16 on the BCM?
The GN/BK wire in the instrument panel connector is the GMLAN, the wire that carries all of the digital data. it goes to a splice location taped to the harness behind the BCM. If everthing else is working the problem is probably between the 2 points, the other wires in that splice go to the RCDLR, the PK3 sensor in the ignition switch, the SDM behind the gear shift and to the BCM pin #38 on the big blue BCM connector.
And no fuel gauge either? And both panels do the same thing?
Depending on how things are wiring (and I have no idea,) it could be a wiring or connector problem. If I had access to the wiring diagram and schematic I might have an opinion on how likely that is and where to look.
Partial damage to a chip remains plausible though.

That’s what I’m talking about! Who needs my opinion when we already have someone who knows the system?

Uh. You might want to check the date on the post you're responding to. It's a 3 year old post and kryptor hasn't been back here in 2 years.
