Battery went completly dead, now instrument cluster is not working
Nope
Have you checked fuses #2 & #4 under hood and #7 & #16 on the BCM?
The GN/BK wire in the instrument panel connector is the GMLAN, the wire that carries all of the digital data. it goes to a splice location taped to the harness behind the BCM. If everthing else is working the problem is probably between the 2 points, the other wires in that splice go to the RCDLR, the PK3 sensor in the ignition switch, the SDM behind the gear shift and to the BCM pin #38 on the big blue BCM connector.

No power to those 4 while running. Now I feel stupiderester...
#4 & #6 underhood should be hot always. That leads me to think either the battery wire to the fuse box is disconnected or the internal connections of the fuse box are bad.
If you separated the fuse box you should recheck the bolts. they need to be tightened way past what feels tight.

Hmmm
Gonna pull it and check pins. Unlikely to have same problem after the swap. Sprayed contact cleaner also.
Oddly enough, another member had the same problem and did post the solution to his. As I suggested earlier; crank down on the bolts in the fuse box past what you think is tight, until it clicks sounds like it broke.
