Might just be that you new battery is a little low on charge. Drive it for a while and see if it goes out. When our battery was low due the key stuck thing, the light was on after they fixed it but went off by the time we got home.

My thoughts exactly db, many times I pulled a "fresh and fully charged" battery off the rack in my "Certified Firestone Tire & Battery Tech" days only to find the battery as flat as a pancake.

Check the battery voltage Jeff, if it's down as we suspect, pop it on a charger. The alternator will bring it up, but it's hard on them if the battery is too low.

Voltage from alternator is still OK??? I wonder if the battery light will come on if you have an alternator issue?

Sounds like a bad alternator. Have the ripple and diode pattern checked... But I still think, it's the alternator that turn the light on.
Hope that's some help

.
My local Firestone admits that they get their batteries from the local NAPA, which is closer to my home. Also found that WallyWorld has a better battery (in terms of warranty and cold crank amps) for less.

And speaking of alternators; I recently hooked my OBDII (Torque) up for a day with curious results. For 20 minutes, or so it reads 14.7 Volts, then gradually goes to 13.5 Volts for a while then to 12.4 Volts for a long time then a gradual climb back up to 14.7. I am thinking about a new battery before winter, anyway. Is this normal behavior, I never looked before?
