In my work reviewing some software apps for Generous Motors, I noticed what I thought was an error in the software: The positive battery cable (part number 15800168) for my '06 HHR LT retailed for $1546.97. Granted, it is 221 inches long and is not just generic cable with a terminal on each end, but 1500 bucks? Yowie! When I brought it to the attention of the product group, they looked into the situation and realized that the system that generates pricing had taken a value and automatically applied a markup that was, shall we say, inappropriate. My software was only reporting what was in the pricing matrix. It was the matrix that had an error.
The good news is that as of today, the price listed for the cable is now a more affordable $130.05. Still not cheap, but as part of the wiring harness, considerably more reasonable.

It is sometimes a very good thing to have 'insider' access.

 

Wow, with a price tag like that ($1,500) , it could be considered a "mod".
