Hillsdale......do you have access to a stethescope??? Those things the doctor listens to your heart and lungs with. Old "shade tree" trick. Use them as a probe to locate the position/cause of the noise. If you do, be careful not to get caught in the fan.

I also, have seen really good tech's use a piece of plastic conduit. It's not flexible so you need to be careful it does not contact two locations at the same time.

Sorry, again for the problem. Maybe the previously tightened bolt worked loose.

Maybe it's the same bolt that keeps loosening up?

Is it a chirping noise that is sometimes there and other times not? Usually on really cold days?

If so, it could be that big hunk o plastic on top of the engine vibrating. Mine does that. Have to pop the hood and touch it and it stops.

You have to wait until next Thursday to get it in for service?

If the problem is a bolt that continues to loosen..
It's time for adding some "Loc-Tite" & be done with that....

Last I remember, way back in my engine building days, the harmonic balancer bolts had a torque spec. Maybe that's not being done. If it is torqued to spec. then something is wrong that is causing the bolt to loosen (stripped threads?).

Well, the car went in Thursday and amazingly it didn't make the noise! It was warmer out. They said they will keep the record open and to come in if it starts to do it again. Well, its colder this morning and making the noise again. Unfortunately the shop here is not open on Saturdays!
