Because: When the water does not warm up to 180F fast enough the computer turns the reading off to make the oblivious driver notice the CEL. The function of the t-stat is tp keep the engine temperature ABOVE 180F, not below.

 

I kinda figured it was something on that line. Makes sense to have a failsafe like that. Thanks for the quick reply...always good to know 'why'

 

Thanks for the explanation. I did burp the car and it parks nose slightly uphill every night. Running fine now. I also used the forums to research and fix my radio speakers not working and my turn signals not auto cancelling out.
