The fact the HHR has a low roof created issues for some taller people not only in head room but in sight lines. Like the Camaro some styling results in some issues for some but not all people.

If they had rasied the roof the HHR would look a little odd. Also if the mirror was smaller some would complain it is too small and still in the way.

.
Just sayin' "Heritage High Roof"?

I like the low roof look, being 5' 11" means I have to crane my neck to see some traffic lights, I'm used to it. The new Camaro is just to tight on headroom for me, maybe the convertible when it arrives will be better, but for now its a no go.

I am 5'6" and the roof line can still be an issue if I am too close to a light. Just have to make sure I stop back where I am supposed to, thats all....LOL. The mirror doesnt seem to be an issue for me.

I too drive a panel and agree that it makes you a more aware driver. Must check a couple of times before changing lanes and my head is on a pivot when backing up making sure I use all of my mirrors.

U-turns under the freeway were the biggest change for me. If you follow the lane you end up in a position where you can not see traffic coming under the freeway when you come to a stop. Had to learn to square off these corners.

When I learned to drive I was taught that you should be moving your head and eyes around anyway, so I've honestly never felt there were any "blind spots" with the HHR. My only annoyance is that at some stop lights I can't see them without "ducking" down.

I drive a 30' Class C motorhome (the type on a for E450 cutaway chassis). Anything is an improvement over that, so the HHR was never a problem for me. I use my sideview mirrors exclusively for both. What impressed me about the HHR is the size of the pillars and the protection that they offer. Many criticize things like this until they get into an accident.

Get yourself a Guide DeLux Viewer- Dash-mount traffic light prism.

Added one to my Panel and have had one like it for more than 30 years in my 55 Chevy.
