bouncing gauges, again
I have had the same problem with my 2009 Chevy hhr, I would have crank no start sometimes not even a crank and then when I did get it started just a few minutes down the road all my gauges went crazy I spent a fortune on a automobile electrician to find the problem. I've replaced everything I could replace sinking more money into the car than it was worth. Then driving down the interstate I began to have problems and I had to pull the car over disconnecting the battery checking everything including the fuse box bolts and connections, and then out of frustration I hit the dash as hard as I could right below the pocket that's on the dash and the air conditioning vent and when I did that the gauges went normal and I started the car. Now the the security lock symbol stayed on, but it ran fine. But, the next time i started the car, the security light would go off untill the next episode. From then on anytime the gauges went crazy I would hit the dash and it would cause the gauges to work correctly and I have come to the conclusion that there must be a bad ground wire somewhere behind the dash I just don't have it in me to tear the dash completely apart to find out which one of the ground wires is causing the problem but every time I hit the dash the lights go off the gauges work correctly and everything works fine. Now I don't know what kind of anomaly this is but all I can tell you it works every time
I just wish there was a way i could upload a video to prove what im saying it factual.

My transmission would not shift like it should, like the converter was stuck in the lock up position. And sometimes (not always) my engine would shutter and shake, maybe because of the transmission. I just can't believe that it could be a loose connection with my guages. It's deeper than that.
But, I will try the YouTube thing you said and you guys can see for yourself.
Well then, not EXACTLY the same problem. Tighten the 4 bolts inside the under hood fuse box way tighter than you think. Each fuse has 2 blades that need to click into slots. Check the nut holding the 2 large red cables on the outside of the under hood fuse box.
I will put this into a new thread.
