dash went blank

i was driving on the nj parkway (highway) last nite when i got out of work well i think i was doing abt 50 or so and i glanced down at the dash the speedometer needle, gas needle, and temp needle where sitting at 0. the odometer and temp for the outside was totally blank??????????????????? im thinking wtf well i stopped at the store, before taking to my friends shop, and turned the car back on and it all came back.... taking the car monday to the dealer for oil change and will have them look at it..

Hmmmm...could be connected to the loose fuse problems many HHR owners have experienced. It was the gauges and the DIC display that went out? How about the instrument cluster lights - did they go out too?

I had the same problem all I did was re-seat all the fuses in the fuse box under the hood and the gauges started working again. Haven't had any troubles with it again.

well the dealership found a loose connection in the dash.....

I had the same problem the second day I had my hhr.
I lost the CID, but the other instruments continued to work.
They had to call GM, plug into the computer to get some information, and then order me a new module. In my case the CID LCD had a short in the ribbon cable. A few days later, I was in and out. Been fine every since.
