Brakes

It's time to replace the front brake pads and rotors. Rockauto has quite a selection of those parts. Are the economy pads and rotors a wise purchase or should I get better ones?

I personally use the Raybestos Element 3 Hybrid Technology pads, they are only $26 a set at Rock Auto.

For rotors, if you live in a snow-and-road-salt area they will generally rust out before they wear out. I live in a rust area so I use Centric coated rotors, but I see Raybestos has coated Element 3 rotors for $24.

I don't buy the "economy" parts for stuff like brakes. For only a few dollars more you can buy better parts.

Thanks for the input. I too live in a rust prone area so I will get the better parts.

I just put in the Wagner OEX ceramic pads for 50 bucks.
They seem to work much nicer than others I've had, well worth the small difference.
